If you want to speak more often, reach out to event organizers EVERY DAY. Darren uses a visualization technique and puts 10 Stage Time University (STU) chips on the table… of course you can use coins, pens… whatever works for you. Just put 10 of them on your table. Every time you reach out to someone that can help you get booked as a speaker, you move one chip or coin from your original pile to your new pile. You want to make a serious statement about yourself as a speaker? Set aside half an hour a day to find an opportunity to speak.
Decide how many people you want to reach out to per day. Will it be 10? 5 or 3? How many “chips” do you want to shift from your original pile to a new pile every day? Darren moves ten! If you are not willing to turn this into your new habit, you are just not serious about getting on stage.
